In the case of root canal therapy, Wedgewood Endodontics is proud to utilize a state-of-the-art procedure called GentleWave. When the pulp of the tooth is infected, a root canal is required. The pulp is a collection of blood vessels and nerve tissue located inside the center of the tooth. Bacteria, which has caused the infection, must be removed from the pulp and surrounding areas. The GentleWave Procedure enables Dr. Ettrich to remove the bacteria with ultra cleaning technology. This advanced system uses fluid dynamics and a wide range of sound waves, which simultaneously reach into the microscopic spaces to clear the infection and remove bacteria, debris and tissue. The procedure is exceptionally effective at reaching bacteria, while also being minimally invasive, which means the tooth’s strength and structure are retained.
